Are you trying to attach an image?

I am not trying to attach an image. Just viewing post, if there is an image in the post, say a screen shoot, it appears as a broken icon for me.

Are you viewing this from your phone or tablet?
If so, are you using Tapatalk or the forum app, or just a web browser?
Are you on the computer?
Can you view this image? (It's just a test image):

I have this problem in the browser on my phone. If this is where the problem is occurring then open your browser and simply hit your menu button or key and select "Request desktop site". This works for me so hopefully it works for you!

Yes I can view the test image. I read many post where someone has posted a screen shot or something similar when describing an issue but instead of the pic there is a small icon that looks like a broken link.

Well, that could very well be an issue with the way they posted it.
It may not be on your end at all.

Sometimes I'll see the broken image, and just to be sure, I'll refresh the page and then it may show

I get that all the time when I am viewing on my forum app. I do not get it when I am looking at it on the computer.

Hey, Mikestony... I was trying to figure out this very problem. In this post I see nothing at all except the text. I also see nothing at all in the your next post about the broken link. Some times like this post http://androidforums.com/lg-g2/830945-photo-thread.html I see 2 diamond shapes with questions marks in them. Same results on mobile app, mobile chrome browser, as well as Chrome, IE, and Firefox on pc. I can however view the test image you posted. What does this mean?

Please help!

Try to clear your pc browser cache and cookies to see if that helps on the computer side.?

Maybe try to do that on your phone too? I rarely use the mobile app for AF or a browser on my phone, so I don't know if you can clear any cookies on the phone browser....I always use Tapatalk.

Nah, it shouldn't be but just to be sure, go into your user control panel/edit options:
http://androidforums.com/profile.php?do=editoptions
then scroll down to "Thread Display Options" and under "Visible Post Elements",
the "show images" box should be checked.

I checked, the box was checked. I unchecked, then checked, then saved.

Alright, I cleared browsing history and tried again on PC. Both the screenshot and broken link show up as a white rectangle with a red X in it.

You have that issue with Chrome, IE, and Firefox? What version of windows are you using?

Hmm, I'd have to do some more research on your issue.
I'm sure there is some setting that needs to be changed, or perhaps Flash updated or Java updated, but to be honest, I'm kinda clueless beyond what I suggested

I can add that the two little diamonds with question marks in them are displaying correctly for you. They're ascii symbols, rather than broken images. If you quote my post you should see them in the text editor: ��
