I just bought an LG E-400 today, and it is running Android 2.3.6. I want to get WhatsApp, but I don't have Google Play or Market installed. I went to Play on my browser and logged in with my account, but my device isn't showing.
Since it wasn't working, I downloaded WhatsApp.apk from their website, and transferred it first into the root directory of my phone, and then after I couldn't find it (I have no file browsing tool) I moved it into /downloads/, hoping that it would show up in the downloads-tool, with no success.
What can I do to install WA? I personally don't have a need for the Play or Market software as I will only be using this as a temporary phone, but if it is necessary to install them, I will.
