landscape texting fullscreen view

ive been searching and i havent found any threads on how to change (fix ) this. when switching to landscape mode while inputting any text whether in messaging or in the browser, it goes to a full screen keyboard and im not able to see whats on the screen. is there a way to change that so it could be like the iOS landscape. where i can still see all the replies or i can see whats on screen.
