    Hey folks,

I have two separate questions here, one concerning a nandroid restore and the other my Android Blizzard Authenticator.

The gist of my first question is this: I'm currently running Fresh 2.3.3, but I'd like to check out Froyo for our Hero's. My problem is, I'm a little worried about a nandroid restore. I did one last weekend when I accidentally screwed something-up; the problem was, when I did restore, there were no applications upon OS boot-up. That is, everything was missing, no phone, contacts, basic stuff. I question as to whether or not this is due to trying to restore a nandroid+ext and not having the ext portion of the SD card (I had to format) or what. I'm just worried that if it doesn't work out with Froyo and I attempt to nandroid restore, it'll screw-up again and I'll have to restart from scratch. Also, I should mention, I did not wipe when I did a nandroid restore last time. I simply booted into the root menu and then restored without doing anything else. Am I supposed to wipe it before a restore or no?

Second question is related: If I do install Froyo, is my Blizzard Authenticator application linked to my gmail account? That is, if I redownload it for the new OS, will I have the same serial number on the authenticator?

    1) Are you using A2SD with a partitioned SD card? You do NOT need to wipe before a restore.

    2) If it's a market app, it should still be under the market and available for you to D/L again (assuming you sign in under the same gmail account). Seeing as I know NOTHING about this app though.... wait for word for someone else.

I don't use A2SD; I've read that it could be bad for the memory card.

I suppose I'll try and find out under the games section or something; I'm not sure if any other rooted Hero users play WoW.

When you do you nandroid backup, you do not need to do an +ext backup then. It should restore with all your apps, contacts, etc.

I'm going to address the part that I am very familiar with here. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE THE AUTHENTICATOR ON ANYTHING ELSE. The reason for this is simple. It considers your phone with 2 separate roms to be two different devices. Because of this, and the fact that you cannot have two authenticators linked to your account, you will get back an error. You need to go to the battlenet site and remove the authenticator from the account, then when you load the new rom, you have to register it with that rom on your account. It's massively tedious, and if you don't have an ipod touch, just buy the authenticator if you plan to mess around with new roms.

Oh, and before I forget, you will need to do this BEFORE you go to froyo, as you will need to enter 2 codes from your authenticator that currently works before it will allow you to remove it from the account.
