need help with people being added when i dont want them to be

Ive got a hero and everytime i chat with someone on gtalk i think it maybe when i recieve a g mail it adds this person into my people icon. Im not wanting these people to show up with the rest of my friends is there any way to change these setting to keep them from showing up. Any help will be very much apprecieted and thanks in advance

gmail has an annoying habit of saving addresses in their contacts, however they will be saved separately from your "My Contacts" section.

You can choose to only sync the "My Contacts" section by going to People > Groups > Menu > Sync Groups and uncheck "sync all contacts". Keept the "My Contacts" checked off.
