New to Group - Hello and 1st question

Hi - I'm new to the group and have had my HTC incredible about 6 months. My first smartphone...so still learning.

Might as well start the questions...I didn't have issues with battery life until the 2.2 upgrade. I did uninstall and then reinstall Task Killer...but hasn't helped. One thing I notice..when I go into task killer there are a LOT of programs running. None of these are programs that I have initiated...any suggestions on turning these off permanently? I tried going into settings>applications>running. I stop them but they keep coming back.

Any help you can provide would be great. I look forward to learning from everyone!

Like Martimus said, go to the Incredible forum. There you'll find the root sub-section. If you root your phone, you will have control over all of these programs. You can "freeze" them using Titanium Backup Pro, as I do.
