I agree with you. Sprint and HTC have have been great with updates and improvements on the EVO, very impressive. I also get bored of my phone fast; all 4 of the smartphones I have had in the past I was ready for something new within a few months. The EVO has kept me excited and interested since July. Nothing available to day has much to offer that the EVO does'nt. Still the best all around phone. And I do like Sprints plans, by far the best.

I wish HTC would release an Evo 2.

I doubt I'll get a new phone in June unless something really impressive comes out. I'm happy with my phone now.

I know a couple people that have multiple phones on different carriers and they get every new thing. The problem is they are always having to learn and relearn how to use it and by the time they are really comfortable they get something else.

I went from a BB to a Treo to the iPhone to the Pre and now the EVO and I am still swyping or pressing or flicking trying to do something I was used to on the other devices.

About the only thing I might switch to in the near future would be if the EVO 2 looked and operated exactly the same just with better hardware.

Wow time sure does fly. I still remember when we called this thing the Supersonic :p I don't have the liberty of yearly upgrades so I'll be keeping this for a while (unless I wanna pay full price). My phone is running 2.3 now and I don't see any reason why I would need another phone for the foreseeable future as long we have such an amazing dev community.

the evo is my first phone that is really more then just a phone to me. sure I have had phones that do the web and play music or whatever, but really they were just gimmicks that didn't replace anything for me. well the evo is everything to me, nav, media player, web browser you name it :)

I love the thing and probably won't upgrade this year, unless it were to get very very light with much better battery life. these too things would have to be significant improvements too. other then that I will be waiting for a dual core phone, not that I need dual core. but that's what I feel would be a big enough upgrade in phones for me to upgrade. sure there needs to be some power improvements for dual core. and sure I have read that no current software supports dual core. but when dual core comes out I sure don't expect to be running current software.

I also don't think sprint will drop support for this phone. do I think it will get an os upgrade past gingerbread, at this point no I do not. but I do think that sprint will keep up with maintenance. I had the instinct for about a year and 7 months and tho that thing was lame and didn't really get new features it seemed to get plenty of maintenance updates for what it was.

besides, all the accessories I have purchased for this beast it would be smart for my wallet to hold on to it for a while.

I don't know. We do know that it turns out the widget was buggy and this fixes that. 4G would turn on/off repeatedly for a lot of people - wasted battery like crazy when the widget said 4G was off.

This also claims to have some stability updates.

We'll have to get user reports as to how good this part really is.

LOL was that a widget? I thought it was the radio... Darn! I sent a perfectly good phone (no light leakage) and got a replacement phone with light leakage... *sigh*. :(

I'd get the Evo 2 or comparable Htc phone if they put it out in June, but really I don't have a lot of desire for something else right now. I hope they really push the envelope with Evo 2 or whatever like they did with Evo. Maybe up the PPI a whole bunch and compete with iPhone 4/5 and make the camera sensor really nice. I'd also enjoy playing with NFC and get Honeycomb on there :)

I was waiting to see if anyone mentioned it...not yet so I will.

No one is interested in WP7? I honestly know almost nothing about it. I'm not even going to look at it until May. If there isn't a better Sprint android by then, or on the near horizon by then I may try one.

P.S. I won't leave. I am getting a second Evo today for my mom for Christmas and throwing her on my family plan. I'm sure you were all worried (or crossing your fingers :p ).

Funny you mention this. I was thinking the exact same thing reading this thread. The Xbox Live looks impressive to me (as someone who only has "real life" friends on Live.) And the Interface is just plain drool worthy. I think Sense is the best UI for Android at the Moment, as I never saw the appeal in stock android? But I personally think there are too many restrictions on WP7 that us EVO owners enjoy daily. And a sidenote, the WP7 coming to Sprint is The Pro I believe which is a radically different form factor than we are used to

I like WP7 and would love to play with somebody's, but it's not open or customizable enough for me. I'm spoiled now. :)

Having upgraded for the last few years on a yearly basis, (Instinct, Pre and now Evo) I very content with my rooted Evo. Now maybe if the next best thing included holographic images, I might consider...... :)

I have no interest in a windows based phone. I love the desktop, but I'm content to be on something like android on my mobile.

i couldn't agree with you more who the heck upgrades their phone yearly unless they have to...if you have the latest updates for your device why go out and spend 200+ on a new phone and contract that's senseless

In the last 3 years I have had a windows phone (6.0), an iphone 3Gs, a pre (just for a month) and now an EVO. I am very content and don't see anything on the horizon that will tempt me. The only thing that will get me actively out looking is if Sprint jumps on the capped-data band wagon. I am interested to see what happens with webOS though. And fwiw, after my experience with a windows phone, they would have to come up with a $20 a month everything plan for me to ever consider one of those again.

Not everyone will agree with everyone else's choices. Some think cable TV is a waste of money, some can't live life without it. Some take the bus, while others buy a decked out Benz every few years.

Senseless to you is not senseless to everyone.

Once I got my Ipad, it kind of made the whole phone as a computer thing a little silly. Don't get me wrong I love my Evo, but the ipad destroys it for a lot of the same things like web browsing, movies..books..apps..etc. I still use my evo for stuff, but the ipad is far better on the battery and obviously easier to type on and work with.

Even if you hate apple, get an android tablet. My point is that you may do yourself better by keeping your evo and just buying a tablet instead.

Agreed to a point. I have an archos 70 also. I think a 7 inch screen is a great sweet spot for me. I have found myself flipping back and forth often (last night, I was showing my girlfriend a car on the evo, pulled out the tablet so we could see it together). I seriously considered getting an optimus (got my daughter one...much better than I ever expected) to save a few bucks. In the end, I doubt I will do it...I love my evo. It has to be an upgrade, or I will stay with it.

I kept an HTC Touch Diamond a year than went to the BB Bold 9650 for 30 days until the Evo came out, swapped to it.

I love this phone. I flash a new rom to it every 3-4 days. Running Salvage Gingerbread rom right now.

As long as devs are tweaking and developing, I'll stick with this phone for a while. I do indeed have a yearly upgrade. I say now that I am content with this phone for a while, and I see nothing right now that makes me want to switch, but CES is coming up...haha

I don't think I could resist not having a shiny new phone...i read somewhere about a dual core, quad gpu phone....dont remember where though. I read engadget all the time.

I switched to sprint in late June. How long does it take to become a premier member?
