power button dosent work!

My acer liquid e was working fine and all of a sudden i try to turn it on by pressing the power button and it didnt work. I took out the battery and reset it and all but still it dosent work. when i put it in the charger it lights up and i could work the phone. When i try pressing just the power button it dosent work the screen is just black. Can anyone help me did anyone else have the same problem? help!

is this a common problem? my parents have this phone and the power button broke too. if you press it hard and wiggle it around as you are holding it itll sometimes work. but thats really time consuming and a pain in the butt for my parents.
