Problem with Google Drive

The contents of my Google Drive differ according to whether I view them from my phone on the one hand or from my PC on the other. More precisely, photos taken on the phone and uploaded to My Drive appear in Drive on the phone but not on the PC. - (This operation ought to be handled automatically by Auto Backup but this isn't working and no one in the community has been able to suggest any remedy.).
