My local library is so underfunded that they are mostly open on the weekends.

My city built a new library a few years back. It is huge but I never see any cars around it. The library it replaced was built around 25 years ago and seemed quite adequate to me. What do I know? I e-book my reading and have not set foot in the new library. Perhaps there is more happening there besides books and research.

I too used to love going to the library, well until they blocked some of my favorite websites

I spent countless days in the well resourced genealogy section of the Wichita library years ago. Now that most all microfilm is digitized and available on the net, albeit at a price, it is far more handy to do research at home. I read all the books I can for a monthly fee. I YT most all of my repair needs for free. Libraries once ruled supreme for many things but their time has come and gone, at least for me.

Every once a spell though, I do enjoy the section, but again it is robbery for a country bunkpkin like me to travel for a book, now these days Iwill get whatever book I needed on my Google books account.

I have a Library down the street from me that's been there since i was young, they plan on doing an upgrade to it soon.

Before the 2020 Covid shutdown I used to go to my local library at least monthly. Now even through it's fully open again not so often. But I still continue to interact with my library indirectly daily using an app on my phones.

We had our local one, since 1997.. I do not visit there that often, only for voting and also for a rental in the book, last one was Batman: Nightwalkers..
I do not have a card,nor I wish to use up gasoline to travel there and back for a book.. Rather do google books..
