Hi everyone. Bought a new and supposed to be unlocked Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000 from Hong Kong (firmware 2.3.4, kernel 2.6.35.7). got a new pre-paid sim card from Bell (I live in Canada). Every time I switch the phone on the prompt "Registration failed(13)" pops up. Interestingly, with my German pre-paid o2 card it works but of course am I am in roaming in this case.
I ask a guy in a Bell Store and they found in Application>Settings>About phone>Status>Network that it reads "Rogers Wireless". So they thought that my phone is actually locked to Rogers. The seller from Hong Kong claims that all phones are sold unlocked.
My questions are:
Is it really a locked phone?
If so what I can do with it?
