Root Rooting and Hack Tool for 4.4.2

I have been trying to download a hack tool and have been unsucessful due to the surveys. I decided I would root my N10 and alter the app manually and am not 100% sure where to start. I believe I need to root the N10 but I can not find anything for 4.4.2. Can anyone help me get started? Thank you.

Nexus devices are usually rooted the same way no matter the device.

1. Set up the fastboot drivers
2. Boot into bootloader/fastboot mode and unlock the bootloader
3. Reboot the device after unlocking to invoke the factory reset and let it complete
4. Download the correct su binary directly onto the device
5. Boot back into bootloader/fastboot mode and either flash or 1-time boot into custom recovery
6. Flash the root binary in custom recovery, and then reboot the device

After those steps, you should be rooted.
