Just thought I'd mention that both PhysOrg.com and New Scientist have apps on the Android Market now. I have been using an RSS reader but have been checking every so often to see if any good science apps had been added to the market and today I see some were. 
There is a bug in the New Scientist application where if you click on a link in the latest news section it opens in the browser. If you open it in a Channel section it will stay in the app. So for now you may want to just use the Channel section. I just sent them an email about the bug but it is listed as beta so they are probably expecting things like that.
