Anyone play Second Life? I used to play A LOT and then I stopped, but now I'm kinda getting back into it. I like making stuff and selling it, like shapes and some basic stuff (clubs, etc). I currently have some stuff listed on the marketplace that I'm hoping will sell *crosses fingers*.

If you play, hit me up! My toon is Skye Babii.

If you have any experience building with sculpties, making textures, scripting, etc I'd love to talk to you, as I want to venture into these avenues but don't have a stepping stone to work off of =)

Never heard of it. Is this an XBL Arcade game?

No it's a PC game. It's a completely open world where the players make EVERYTHING. It's basically exactly how it sounds... a second life. You can go to clubs, go to concerts, visit amusement parks, whatever you can think of you can do. It's pretty amazing, especially thinking that everything is built by it's members. For example, I make character shapes (basically what your character looks like), nightclubs, and various other objects. I'm trying to learn how to do more advanced stuff.

Lol I have no idea what game you're talking about. Spore? I have never played that haha.

I guess it's most closely related to the Sims, but it's a pretty long stretch to say even that. I feel weird even calling it a game, because there's no story. You live your life. Schools are getting into using it for lessons. It's a completely free game so you should give it a try =) Hit me up in game... I probably have some stuff I can throw your way, too. My name is Skye Babii.

Like kitchen appliances and such? lol :p

I checked out the site, looks pretty extensive for a free game. Is work in real time!!? Seems like it would suck to have to work for 8 hours to make any cash...

Lol I don't think I have an kitchen appliances that I can give out. I have my OWN kitchen appliances, but they are not able to be transfered to another character. But I have some stuff to make your avatar look not so noob-ish and some other essential stuff.

It is. There really is no limit to what you can do. You can get a "premium" membership, too, which gives you an allowance of money every week and you get a free house to live in, which is awesome because renting can be pretty expensive. Premium membership is only $10 a month.

Well like real life, all jobs are different. From what I've seen, most work on 2 hour shifts. It's all up to the owner of wherever you're trying to get a job. I've never seen more than a 3 hour shift. Some places you don't have set hours, either, you can come and go as you please.

Second Life is not a game. It is a multi user virtual environment that can be used for anything and its users create everything that is there. It is real time, has full audio communication, a very vast landscape, and some incredible simulations that have been built. (The Sistine Chapel is particularly compelling).

There are groups involving almost interest from music to art to teaching and learning. There is a shady side as well. I doubt the graphical processing could be handled on an android device, although I have used it on a netbook- it is iffy there.

I used to go there a lot, but haven't for a couple of years. The rock band Journey created a space for their fans, and people used to go there and hang out. They had music nights in the club and also beach parties, the characters would go and buy new outfits frequently. Unltimately I found I didn't have the time to keep going and I did find it a bit odd tbh. I like my games (I know it'snot really a game) to be more linear, I just end up endlessly flying around. Having been reminded of it, I may go back and have a look, that's if I can remember my character name and password !!

I used to administer a club in Second Life for health care professionals. We got the idea when a teacher at the big college in our town discovered all the possibilities in Second Life, including being able to set it up for actual financial transactions.

We built an entire city block in there of offices and parks, etc. It was quite fun for a while, then just got old. :D

Yeah I definitely wouldn't recommend trying it on a phone. It can definitely get old, and I've quit playing numerous times, and then I go back haha. Now's one of those times =)

I wasn't able to remember my password or even the email address I had the account on lol. I knew the last 4 of the credit card I was using so I called and gave them that and answered the secret question and they reset my email and password. If you can't use the password recovery they offer online you can usually call and they do what they can to get you your information back.

Wow, there are still people in second life? For a while it seemed like that world was populated only by journalists trying to make a research about what they would the brand "The Web 2.0" :D

Yeah, I am surprised that people arer still there...

I made an account, then my computer kept crashing, so I uninstalled it and that was the end of it for me.

Also, it's a free game/sns but in the end you have to generate money, so that was too much for me to keep up.

    D. Hh have any similar stuff out now?
