This may be a dumb question but I can't seem to find a place to set a phone start up/power up sound. Any body know where this is or if we can do it? Haven't had any luck looking at previous threads.

Yeah me too. I got the sound files but I need to know what to do with them if anything.

There isn't a startup sound as such. The sound you hear at startup is just the notification sound when the SD card is mounted to the device.

To turn this on: Settings> Sound & Display> SD card notifications check box

It will play whatever your notification ringtone is.

Its called the boot animation and it probably won't be changeable until the phone is rooted. I don't know why they decided against the boot sounds, but i'm kinda glad they did. It was alittle annoying to hear the same sounds everytime it boots up.

On other droid phones there is a sound when booting that is not the notification sound. On the eris the green android waves his hands on bootup and it makes a funny sort of squiggly sound.
