To those who lost there original IMEI and didn't make/lost/couldn't make (before 5irom) there IMEI backup, i accidentally stumbled upon a way to temporarily get it back and keep it (granted after temporarily obtaining it, then following steps 8 through 15)
Anyway, before the instructions, here are a few notes:
*THIS MAY NOT WORK FOR YOU, IT WORKED FOR ME A FEW TIMES
*this DOES NOT require a computer
*It DOES require a custom recovery, wifi, and a baseband different from the one you have (if your on GB go to ICS, nd vice versa) and a custom rom
*if your TESTING this, have a 5irom backup just incase you already have your IMEI and dont want to lose it
Anyway:
1: download a baseband different from your, so say your on GB, get ICS, and if your on ICS, get GB. in about phone, and baseband (or about phone status, then baseband depending on the rom): 1090808 is GB, and 2030 is ICS
2: download an ICS or JB rom if you downloaded the ICS baseband * and a GB one if you got the GB baseband)
3: remove your SD card
4:enter CWM using Vol+ and PWR (when powered off) AND WIPE EVERYTHING.
5: Insert your sd card, and reboot recovery (for those who dont know, its in advanced options)
6:select install from sd card and install the baseband you downloaded and install it. (instead of flashig the rom THEN the baseband, yes, it sticks)
7: NOW install the rom after and reboot.
To keep the baseband:
8: download 5iromtoolbox
9:give it superuser permission
10: select backup imei
11: reboot your phone

pen 5iromtoolbox again
13:select restore imei
14:reboot your phone.
15: DONE! check to make sure it stayed by dialing *#06# on your cellphone (it should pop up)
This fixes flashing a new baseband without a backup of your imei. enjoy!
