Help Tethering

Does anyone know if the Samsung Galaxy Axiom (S3 mini) times out when in hot spot mode when not in use for a few hours. I have tried different channels. My Axiom is my internet WIFI router and it seems to time out sometimes the switch even moves off green. I'm getting 16mps with US Cellular 4glte which is tens times better than my old ATT dsl.
