Android Question

Hi
I'm using a Lenovo A789 with Android 4.0.4 and using the default text messaging app.
From the beginning, I have separate threads when sending and receiving text messages. This happens with all my text messages and it seems that what triggers the separation is the message initiator i.e. if I start the conversation the message is sent in one thread and returns in a different thread. If the other side starts the conversation, then all incoming and outgoing messages will be in the same thread.
Is this a 4.0.4 problem ?
