Help Time before a locked screen turns off

Can the time before a locked screen turns off be altered? It currently lasts about 10-15 seconds.

I'm not completely sure that I understand the question but if you mean how to alter the length of time it takes for the screen to switch off when the phone is left untouched then do the following:

Menu > Settings > Display > Screen timeout and select the desired time.

I leave mine set to 15 seconds in an effort to conserve a little battery life.

Screen Timeout is about when an unlocked phone reverts to idle (black screen).

Here what I meant was when you click the top button, which shows you a locked screen...it eventually reverts back to idle.
