tomtom data connection error

Hello,
I am trying to set my g1 phone to my tomtom, when I go through the motions it all goes well untill the last bit where it says, this phone does not seem to be capable of making wireless data connection.tomtom services cannot be used on this phone.

Does anyone no what to do to over come this problem.

I also have experienced the same problem. On Verizon network with Motorola Droid. It connects and pairs just fine but when it comes to the end says it is unable to establish data connection.

I like having the TomTom (720) and would like to continue using it, but would love to use the phone to update and establish data connection.

Any ideas out there?
