Seems Optimus S has been getting good reviews and it has Froyo. Transform is 2.1 and reviews mention laggy issues even though it's 800 mhz.

    Which should I get?

i think once the transform gets 2.2 it will fly. i'll wait and see when both phones have 2.2 and see how the transform compares to the optimus.

At this point I can't justify the extra $100 the transform will cost over the Optimus. I'd almost rather jump to the EVO

You are in the same delema I am. The Optimus S is getting OUTSTANDING reviews every site I go to. 5 out of 5 stars. I have not read a bad review about it yet. Has a 600ghz processor, but from what people are saying it is plenty fast, and the 2.2 is a plus. I held one in the sprint store today. Very nice. Has the feel of an iphone. The transform however has the front facing camera, which is one of the main draws I have to it for the video chat function. The video chat is very choppy, slow and useless to hold a conversation with anyone. I am hopeing that 2.2 will make it WAY better as far as the video chat goes. 2.2 will also open the transform to other video chat apps as well. Everyone is saying though that the Optimus is a home run, and a solid good choice for an android phone. If the Transform doesn't work out with the video chat I will be trading for an Optimus.

I went to a Sprint store today and they did not have an Optimus on display. I really like the T-mobile android selection but the family plan cost will be higher than Sprint. My wife also really wants the new Blackberry Style so the Optimus in purple will probably be what I get around Christmas with a 16 GB SD card.

Interesting views on this guys... Check this out though, its a little leak on the black friday sales (U.S.) for Radio Shack...

RadioShack.com Black Friday Ad and the 2010 Radio Shack Black Friday Deals

Now, do this function (Ctrl + F) And then type in 'Sprint Samsung Transform' and take a look at that price. I think most of you could appreciate that price for the Transform. :)

My AT&T contract doesn't end until 12/20/10. Have to see how the Christmas deals are then.

You should call AT&T and ask what is the penalty to cancel less than 1 month early. With sprint it is like $175 to cancel from the start of your contract and goes down $10 each month untill the end. If AT&T is does the same you may be able to cancel for little or no cost right now. I don't think the deals will get much better than this on black friday.

My oldest daughter just got the Transform today, we'll actually me and my wife went and got it while she slept, but its hers. Couldnt pass up on it for free!! She was going to get the Intercept last week but waited for Black Friday and its a good thing. Intercept was $100 last week and today they were both free. My wife and I both have rooted Evo's, and I want to root my daughters Transform too, got a lot of reading up to do on the Transform first though!!

I thought about the Optimus, but i went with the Tansform. A little bigger sceen & a keyboard. I'm new to the Android Market but i can't see doing without a physcal keyboard. It's easier to use for me. The onscreen is ok & comes in handy at times, i just like the option of a physical keyboard.
