Help Turning Speaker on turns on Mute

Hi Guys!

Brand new to the forum, but I've definitely perused through here finding solutions. I can't seem to find any about this particular problem though. I have a galaxy S4 with stock rom. Anytime I put a call on speaker, it mutes the phone so that the person I'm talking to can't hear me.

Any thoughts on this?
