Help Unable to Download MP3 Files from GMail for Use as Ringtones?

Hello! I apologize in advance if this is posted in the wrong place or if it has been answered before, but I have an Incredible, on Verizon, and have been trying to download small (less than 500k) MP3 files from my GMail inbox to use as ringtone. I have tried many different encoding bit rates (starting at 128kps/44100), but have not been able to download the files. At one time (not long after purchasing the phone), I could simply email an MP3 to myself and download it from GMail into Ringdroid and go from there. But, now I can not. Does anybody have any suggestion for a fix?
