Do you mean the July Security patch? It sounds important as it has fixes for 7 critical issues, 18 high severity issues, and 7 moderate issues. My understanding is that every major Android package in Marshmallow are being patched, so it is an important update and hopefully will fix things, though with so much being changed it is possible they will have accidentally "broken" something.

dumping the cash thru the setting menue or going into the restart menues?
If you're having issues after the update try a factory reset. AFAIK thats still the only way to fully clear all the cache partitions on a non-rooted device
