Upgrading the microSD card from 8gb to 16gb

Anyone have experience with this?

My daughter's phone has an 8gb microSD card and I want to upgrade it to 16gb.

Is it as easy as using my computer and CNTRL-A > copy > paste (to new card)?

She has some apps on her SD card as her phone does not have the internal memory capacity.

Outside of the apps thing, yeah that's pretty much it. You could try a disk image like drive xml too.

Not rooted. Just simply trying to up the memory capacity.

When I did that, I

enable USB sharing so the SD appears as a new drive on my PC
set it to show hidden files there, just in case
did ctl-A, copy them to a new temp folder
dismount and remove old SD
insert and format new SD
copy the files from that temp folder to the new SD
...then had a beer.

Thanks, but I found a simpler solution. And it took only one step.

1) Bought her a new phone.
