Help usb won't connect

i cant connect my captivate to my computer

nothing reads !! >_<

it was fine at first now it doesn't work

when i connect my phone to my computer i do the following:
1) select mass storage
2) scroll the top menu down and select mount usb
3) press mount

and my thing doesnt pop up anymore
