I see these Voice Command posts don't get much response. It's kind of a hit or miss with these apps. I have a Samsung Galaxy S 2 Epic 4g Touch, Samsung Bluetooth Headset HM1700.
So far I have tried:
Samsung Voice Talk (Powered by Vlingo) - Preinstalled
This is the best I have found so far. (4/5)
Waits for Start command ("Hi Galaxy")
Plays Music (Opens the built-in music player first, then opens Pandora)
Play Music By "Artist" (Opens the station in Pandora, but does not play)
Places calls
Sends SMS messages.
Opens some Apps
While driving it tries to decode 2 minutes of engine noise.
Bluetooth headset control works at first but then stops for known no reason.
Jeannie - Free
A bit annoying with the chatter, but works well with many of the commands. (3/5)
Places calls
Plays Music
Opens some apps
Answers many questions
Chatter can be disabled
Vlingo - Free
This is the worst so far (1/5)
It doesn't even recognize "Play Music" just keeps trying to go to a Web Search for everything I say. After seeing the "Voice Talk powered by Vlingo". I was hoping for a working app.
Makes calls
Wakes up on "Hi Vlingo"
Well, I will continue to look for a good Voice command app, but I thought I would throw some questions out there, in case anyone has any feedback.
How to make Vlingo-Free Play Music? Play Music by...?
How to make Voice Talk stop opening the Music Player before launching Pandora?
How to make Voice Talk/Vlingo/Jeannie open installed applications?
Is there a better app I am missing?
