That's OK I got a free upgrade bro tell granny to hang on to it. As far as the bulkyness goes its not so much a size thing its a design and feel thing. I guess its all preference but I prefer my "iphone killer" to be at least on par with the iphone this phone is far from it
Yeah you got me. My gma isn't really selling hers -- I told her the 3gs wouldn't be much of an upgrade for her. I am selling mine though, but sounds like you're covered.
As far as 'on par,' you are right. A guy at a bar asked me last night which to get his wife, I said iPhone. I don't think anything will come close to iPhone's simplicity and cutesyness for a while, so for almost all non-tech-literate girls (or boys!) I will always recommend iPhone.
"On par" was pretty general though. So if you meant to say 'on par' in terms of simplicity/chic-ness, you are correct. And it sounds like thats what you meant, when your main issue seems to be the 'bulkiness' (or non-smooth nature) of the phone. So for you, no, and I don't see an iPhone killer for you for a long time - apple does a pretty good job of remaining fasionable.
For lots of people though, that like utility customizability, the Droid certainly Does. Sharper screen, multitasking, sharper camera, open development/google voice, free navigation, etc, all add up to a better experience for many accustomed to technology. Not that Everyone good with tech will love the phone, just those who think the lack of the apple logo and intuitive cut-and-paste is worth all the extra features.
TLDR: For you, where fasion is paramount, and for anyone who likes simplicity over complexity (in all forms, a la: a boombox is easier to set up than a full home speaker system), then the iPhone is the way to go. Elsewise, I'd say its pretty "on par."
