will CM fix broken radio files?

    After having one of my phones refuse to go on the cell network, I found the problem to be a corrupted radio info file. My question is how to fix this. Will flashing a new ROM help?

    The question should be relatively device independent should it not? The guinea pig will be a Sidekick. The last post I saw on that board was still several months ago, making it useless. Would a new ROM help me with a bad radio file or would it work better to, say, bogart the radio file from my G-Exibit and edit as needed? Also, what is the name/locatiin of the radio file under Froyo/Gingerbread?

    Since my IMEI number is now a cuss word, I know my radio file is corrupt. what is it naned?

    Could I be doing anything illegal or unethical by attempting to repair my phone? If so, how? Could T*Mobile have done this? What and why would an IMEI file go corrupt?
