Help Wrong location; Google Search

I had this problem on my Desire, and managed to fix it, but cannot for the life of me remember how.

I've tried everything i can think of, but when I search something like 'lottery', the results are for the US, not the UK (even though I'm searching with google.co.uk). Same when I search 'Spurs', I'm getting NBA related results rather than english football.

Can anyone help me with this?

Have you tried the following...?

Google Search (app) > Menu > Search settings > Google search > Use My Location. Try switching it off then on, if already on, to reset it.

Also make sure at least one of the options (usually wifi) is checked in My Location in Menu > Settings > Location.

There are location settings in your Google account. These can only be accessed by the web; they're not part of the phone's settings. I think they're under Preferences or 'general settings'.
