ZTE mustang camera error

My ZTE Z998 (mustang) Keeps giving me a camera error everytime i open my camera app.
Its rooted, not sure if that helps or not.

Since the camera app isn't a rooted app, that makes no difference.

Knowing what error it's giving you might help us to help you. (Force closed is merely another way of saying "crashed". It doesn't tell us anything.)

The error says "Cannot connect to camera" and then closes

The issue may be related to the root in some way even though it's not a root app. Are you running a custom software on the phone? It could possibly be a permissions error.

Some easy things to try would be to open your app manager in the settings and clear cache and data for the camera app.

You could try booting into recovery and running "fix permissions". Probably under advanced or similar.

You could try wiping cache/dalvik in recovery.


Without knowing everything you've done to the phone, it's impossible to pinpoint the exact issue.

You could also make a backup and return to stock. If the camera is working, then the issue is likely from something you did or changed.

You could also try a wipe and clean install of the rom. If you flashed your rom without wiping first, you may have some issues.

Okay so i cleared the cache/data and it did help in terms of the back cam but now there isnt and option to change to the front... Also there is a binary error for SuperSU and i cant seem to find a way to install those binaries since they were somehow lost

(New to all this so sorry on my lack of info and knowledge)

Not sure what more to do to the camera. Can you wipe and do a fresh install of whatever rom you are using?

Apperently my phone isnt supported by any exploits anymore?...Which i find rediculas

And can you explain to me wht a ROM is?
