Well for those who've read my previous thread ordered the Hero sim free in the uk (and spent far too much money) and found a class 6 16GB Micro SD card which I will order come payday.

I had a look at the protection poll and wondered if anyone has any recomendations for a pouch type case for the Hero?

I'm running Windows 7 on my main PC and netbook - are there any issues with the Hero and Windows 7? i.e. HTC Sync?

Really excited and looking forward to getting the phone - still not sure what to do with the N97 - speaking of which are there any REALLY good fm transmitters that work with the Hero for in-car playing?

Well bad news - still no Hero

Odered Friday and spoke on phone - had paid the extra for next day delivery and was told would be with me on Monday.

Well came back from France yesterday and no sign of phone - emailed Crescent and got a reply today - seems the courier had lost my phone Crescent have sent out another one for AM delivery tomorrow, so really hoping I recieve it - as I live out in the sticks some couriers just don't bother delivering and I'm off to France on Thursday so if its not here tomorrow going to have to be next week probably before I can pick it up

Keep your fingers crossed for me guys

Protection... Meh who needs it LOL... On a more serious note..I prefer not to carry around additional cases making the phone looks bulky or what ever but if you need one just get a standard pouch..those plastic back cases look tacky...and are cheap and will eventually crack / break..

Hey Monkey - any updates? Has your phone arrived and been recieved today?

I'm meant to be on a AM delivery - asked (via email) for tracking number and details yesterday - still haven't recieved them so rang them up today and waiting for a call back (20 mins so far) with the details so I can check if its on its way to me.

Thing is I'm off to France tomorrow early in the morning so if not today will be weekend - and there's only so much reading of forums/magazines etc... I can do

Will laugh if the case or anything else order yesterday turns up via royal mail (delivery 3pm sighhh) before the bloomin phone (ordered last Friday)

I had ordered Friday afternoon for delivery monday from https://www.crescentelectronics.co.uk/, as you guys know the supplier lost my original delivery, and yesterday I was promised an AM delivery today, and I asked Crescent for a tracking number at around 1pm

Well spoke on the phone this morning at 09:45 and asked for tracking number again, just got a phone call at 11:50 from Crescent to telling me that unfortunatly (again!) the supplier still hasn't sent it out!

I wouldnt mind but I will get phone 1 week after ordering it for next day delivery - and I had yesterday and today as days off to set phone up and get used to it - where as I back later Friday afternoon and working Saturday - beginning to get very pee'd off.

I wouldn't have minded as much if they had told me this yesterday before I ordered and paid for the accessories that they are now throwing in

There's no excuse for this kind of service these days. I run a small-ish business myself and work stupidly hard to keep promises made.
I bet they are one of many businesses I hear whining about the recession.

Well here's the latest email in reply to me asking about a tracking number:

"Hi Alex, we have them literaly pinned about this, ive been purposfully making it very hard for them to do just about anything else but as ive asked, im even talking to the account magagers boss, i have my own boss calling every 5 minutes to see if they have done as asked, ive been flooding them with emails. The trouble is, that with this company they are they only htc supplier in the uk, so at some point every htc phone, locked and unlocked comes through them here to the uk. With other phones such as Nokia we can source them from 1 of easily 17 or more different suppliers. As im writting to you its only been about 5 minutes since i last called them, getting a tracking number should be a very easy process and if there was any other company we could use to get genuine htc stock from, we'd be doing so long ago. Im about to call them again now for you on there direct number."

To be fair they seem to be doing as much as they can - it looks like they are based in Tunbridge Wells in which case I've said if they can get it delivered to them today I will drive there (1.5 hours each way) to pick the phone up - awaiting a response.

I'm not sure where tbh the problem lies in this - it should be a simple issue to sort - and for that reason not put any bad reviews up on the review sites. However if I don't recieve a tracking number today then I expect the words "Hell hath no fury" may be applicable

its just Bloody Incompetence of both 3 Mobile and the Carrier
some company called DPD, I have been Promised (Yeah Right)
that it will definitely be delivered tomorrow for sure.
I wont be holding my breath mate.
I really hope that you have yours by the time you get back from home
at the weekend.
I will let you All know how My Saga Continues tomorrow.
