iPhone to hit Verizon in Jan 2011

Verizon has been getting this phone for years, ad nauseum.
Verizon has been known to screw with competitors like this with 'leaks' as well.
Could be they are screwing around with Apple and AT&T and releasing bunk just to make people think twice about buying an iPhone.
Problem is, it's worn out now... it worked the first year.

Here's my opinion. Steve Jobs tends to take his ego over business sense.

Verizon spurned Apple to begin with.

Verizon truly launched Android into competition with the iPhone.

Verizon attacked the iPhone with the "Droid Does" commercials.

Verizon announced the Droid X, it's release date, and it's specs on the day before the iPhone 4 went on sale.

I don't see Steve playing nice with Verizon at any point.

Plus I don't think Verizon is willing to give Apple the kickbacks that AT&T is.

As the iPhone falls in popularity compared to Android, Steve may be forced to do it, but I think we are looking at 2012, when LTE has been released to a far greater number of cities. I don't think we will see an iPhone on Verizon until LTE has a much greater reach than it will next year.

i like how they say google's market share dropped 3.8% this year haha pretty sure they increased phone sales by 700% this year. Something isnt adding up there. And I wouldn't take any of this to heart guys, it says the sources for this article is "two individuals who wish to remain anonymous" we've heard this before

The article isn't very clear, but they are talking about stock price.

I just can't see it.
As it's been pointed out Verizon already thumbed it's nose at Apple and Jobs is basically arrogant.

I say let Apple keep shooting themselves in the foot.
The negative Pr today regarding the poor reception and their leaked document on how to handle it was bad enough.

The fact that 3 positions opened up for RF engineers leads me to believe that either they are hiring more to work on the problem or they fired 3 of them.

Then there is the technical aspects.... GSM phone and CDMA phone...
It would take a lot of work to do it AND if it was going to happen we would have seen some evidence of it usually in the form of FCC filings, which are public.

I just don't see it happening with less than 6 months to go.

This is the main reason I believe that we won't see it. Plus, Verizon is already making mad money via it's Droid lineup, which is selling as well as the iPhone. I don't see any reason that they would take up a phone that they would have to pay kickbacks to Apple for, that would take away from their current money maker, which they don't have to pay kickbacks for.
