Trade in Droid for X?

just keep your droid till motorola comes out with the 2ghz or duel core chips in there phones. The sad thing is that the Droid X is actually already out of date. I mean we all know they are working on better phones already. I have a droid too, but im keeping it till the end of my contract. VZ is redoing their network soon, so i dont see the point in a new phone.

I disagree that its already out of date. If they werent already working on better phones I would be pissed. Now will it be up to date for very long probably not. Our droids sure werent the best for very long before the nexus came out but it will be the same with any phone. The next best thing is always a month or two away.

I think one could argue that the Droid is still among the leaders today thanks to it's combination of hardware keyboard and plain vanilla OS. Personally, I agree with Darkwarrior about waiting for the 2 year agreement to expire before upgrading. Getting an Android replacement with 4G capability later is much better than jumping to Droid X now. And I'm just about convinced that I will be looking for another plain vanilla replacement -- not something running Sense, MotoBlur, etc.

I think the droid is still a great device but in terms of hardware its not up there with the big boys of android anymore. More so because of ram than the processor though.

I agree. I have no interest in the stupid overlays like blur and sense. Hopefully Gingerbread will get rid of those. I get 1 year contracts but I will be waiting for 4g as well. Should be out by the end of the year though.
