Droid. how to stream audio through car steteo

Alpine ida-x303

When I plug the USB cable in the car stereo it will charge the Droid but it will not play radio apps. The unit says no USB found.

I don't think you can stream radio apps using USB. I believe you can use it as a USB mass storage to play your MP3s stored on your SD card but streaming, like say Pandora, can't be done via USB. You can use the auxillary input and plug it thru the headphone jack of the Droid. That should work. Or you can use bluetooth to stream audio (IMO think that's the best option).

I just purchased the Blackberry Music Gateway and connected it to the aux input of my car stereo. It works very well. The sound quality is FLAWLESS (in my experience BT streaming is hit or miss depending on the chipsets used).

BlackBerry - Gateway for BlackBerry Smartphones at BlackBerry.com

I bought mine on Ebay for about $40.

bjamerican, can you tell me if the BB Gateway connects as soon as you plug in usb or do you have to actually touch it to connect? Also, it seems that it does not pass phone calls through which I would actually like it to do. Is there a way around this?
