Both the Inc and X have 8gb of built-in flash memory, but the allocations are different:

Inc = 748mb for apps + 6.6gb for media

X = 7.34gb for apps (no allocation for media)

I prefer the Inc allocation myself, since 6.6gb more media is a nice chunk of space for- media. Then again, if you are a heavy gamer and intend on using your phone for the function a lot, I can see where having all the space for apps could be handy. Added: until Froyo and apps2sd are more common for devs, of course and then it will not matter too much (unless you have a very slow microsd card)

A lot of EA games like Need for Speed are almost 200mb installed. Does not take long with games like that. I am more an arcade gamer on a phone, so will prefer smaller games. Still, the market will start to see some good stuff as Froyo becomes common (apps2sd will help the market- big time).

worth noting, though, that many apps use the media storage space for huge game installs. precisely because most android phones have had limited app storage space, developers coded around this. i have a few large games installed, but only one that installs all the big stuff to app storage.

I'd love for apps to be able to use the internal 6.6GB for storage instead of only HTC apps. That way my SD card is for media and the internal memory (which I've benchmarked with my PC through USB as three times faster) is used for games so load times are shorter.

Maybe if you have a class6 card it isn't a big deal, but we already have 6.6GB of class6 (or better) memory right on the phone.
