I said I'd wait to see this month out for the official release, if it doesn't show I'll then grab this as it still gives the app devs time to get Froyo A2SD configured in most of the worthwhile apps.

Looks promising alright can't wait for sense froyo. I had froyo but went back to 2.1 just out of ease of use really

It is only my opinion you understand. I have tried numerous froyo roms and none of them look or feel as nice as a 2.1 rom with Sense.

I dont use APPS2SD personally but from my understanding classic APPS2SD allows you to install any app on the SD card. Froyo built in APPS2SD only allows to install apps to the SD that have been developed to do so.

The app developers need to put this feature into their apps for it to work on froyo. He was not talking about the ROMs.

I may just root mine and put Vanilla Froyo on.

I now use Launcher Pro and am pretty sure I don't use any HTC programs anymore.

Hmmm....even I may root for this. I love sense but am not too tech savvy to get used to a vanilla Rom.

Yeh that was where i got too before I rooted. Was already not using some of the sense UI stuff so took the leap and glad I did, opened up so much more customisation.

this is what i've been thinking about... but I have only used the desire with sense and have no experience of vanilla android. can you provide a more detailed account of what you lose and what you gain?

You loose all the HTC widgets. The browser changes to the standard android one:

Phone with contacts:

Messaging:

USB:

Lock screen:

Errrm i think that's the main things. Feel free anyone to put in more! If you've been using launcherPro you're already nearly at a un-sense experience.

cheers Ceefax, how does the user experience differ? My problem is that I have had no issues with my fone from out-of-the-box (unlike many others), I use it loads and the very minor problems have been easily rectified (usually no more than the odd restart). Thus, I am unsure of whether to change it through rooting... it's a 'can I be arsed' situation, and would need a good reason!

Personally I live sense UI so would only flash once the rom is compatible with it. Then again I've only had phone a month so may get bored

I can wait for the official 2.2 upgrade but its good to see that work is obviously being done by HTC as we type.

720 recording will hopefully be nice too.

I got bored by page 20 of the XDA thread, hope I haven't missed anything, probably just more bickering amongst themselves !

I'm really puzzled.. if HTC is still working on froyo with sense, then what's this and where did it cone from? What's the difference between this and the official release?

after trying for nigh on 40 minutes to apply the fake flash, i actually found out that the phone wasn't rooted so had to root it ..

anyway, did that, just flashed the rom and now flashing the radio .. looking forward to trying it ..
