Changing ringtone

Not sure what's happened here, but just confirming you don't have the SD card mounted while it is connected to the computer? You could always do a factory reset to try and fix the problem.

SD card was mounted but I am not connected to PC now.

I am very new to Android and would like to resist a factory reset by all means if I can.
Default connection to PC is HTC Sync, but I also have "ask me" when connecting.

I get the same response when I go to "Default Ringtone" under personalize.

Not sure why the options don't come up. I use mp3's as ringtones using Astro file explorer (free app). Just browse to the music file, long press and select 'music options - use as ringtone'.

I have Astro but no "musice file", I have MP3 which must have come with the phone and have some tunes but no "music options - use as ringtone.

I am perplexed. I had many ringtones where did they go????
