I dont think so, you should be able to sync those who have phone numbers. But you can't individually control each person.

I had the same problem... then I just decided to delete my facebook info from the phone.

found the fix...go under contacts...menu key....display group.....then you can choose from facebook, google, phone contacts, or all

The thing is I want the pictures for the people that are already in my contacts but not everyone in my facebook. its annoying but I havent found a way around it yet.

You may have to use trial and error on some of the apps in the market, what you are looking for is something I don't recall seeing, but perhaps an app exists that gives you the type of control you are looking for, but I doubt it.

Goto contacts, select the contact you want to link, press menu, click link, select the FB contact.....done!

How do you expect them to implement selective syncing? FB integration is somewhat lacking in Android, but that's a matter for FB, not Android.

I think this is actually different for each phone. I had the HTC droid eris and then incredible and also the motorola droid now the x. HTC seemed more flexible and was easier to link and let you choose which contact display name and picture you want. I can't find yet a way to choose what display picture and contact names you want for the motorolas yet.
