MMS Picture Messages Received - Too Small!

I am on O2, but don't know if that's the problem?

It is. O2's server(s) won't recognise the useragent string provided by the Hero apparantly. I've seen a couple of threads elsewhere about this and at least one attempt to fix it by changing the useragent string in a replacement mms.apk to one that is supported. I don't think this actually worked on Cupcake-based devices though.

Thanks mate. Did a bit of searching myself and saw the term "user agent" appear!

Is this something unique to HTC devices on O2, or any Android device? Or just Hero? I always assumed an unlocked device was 'clear' on any network!

Do I have to wait for O2 to be kind and change a setting, or is there anything that HTC or Android may be able to sort out in future?

Thanks!

Looks like Handcent SMS latest update resolves this, but not tested yet.
There are now several User Agent settings to choose from including iPhone 3.0 and Custom.

Will report back later......
