Some questions about the music player...

The vibrant is my first android and I am not totally sure if the included music player is the actual android music player or if it is something that samsung threw in there with touchwiz 3.0.

So I was wondering if anyone could answer these questions.

1. Since samsung has declined to include a widget (which I'm told is android stock) to control music are there any from the marketplace that can be used for this?

2. I don't see any kind of "folder view" for music, I have been using Genre View but the problem is that even though I individually tag all my files for a specific genre they don't show up in the player as that genre. It's like the player just tries to decide for you what genre to place stuff in.

3. Finally, with this being bluetooth 3.0 has anyone found a decent 3.0 headset that will allow you to play music over it?

Thanks.

The music player is not the one from stock android. I'm pretty sure there is no widget that will function with the Touchwizplayer, but music controls are automatically placed in the notification bar and at the lockscreen making a widget pointless. As for folder view, the music player is limited in the ability to sort music, not sure why they wouldn't include something like that. Unfortunately I'm not sure about the headset.

Well, after searching for days on this topic, I actually managed to run back into my own thread. So I think I will take some time to answer my own questions here in the event that someone else is wondering the same thing...

1. Squarebare, the stock galaxy S player is fail and will likely continue to be so until the froyo update in September. There is no widget program that will work with it, but you can use a new program.

2. Squarebare, the tag reading system of the Galaxy S and probably all of android 2.1 is utterly and completely broken. All attempts to fix it and actually get it to recognize tags have failed. Instead you need to use a player called Meridian it has a FOLDER VIEW and a widget to change tracks (which is what you were looking for in the first place), I believe you already have it on your phone.

3. I found a great bluetooth headset for you.

Samsung Bluetooth Headset WEP870

It was on amazon for 30 bucks and it converts from a traditional earpiece to a pair of headphones with earbuds, all of which you can listen to music on. I already bought it for you.
