Root Titanium Backup Help

So I just rooted my dinc and am about to add the ota radio update.zip but I'm trying to backup my stuff with titanium and can't seem to figure it out. I would greatly appreciate any advice or answers to these questions:

Must the phone be plugged into the computer? If so must it be windows?

Must usb debugging be on as well as allow unknown sources?

I download busy box and can get to the screen where I select backup apps and data but have no idea where the backup of this is stored...where? I hit the backup apps and data button and run but instantly I go back to the home screen. Is my stuff backed up? Please Help! THanks so much!

You don't have to be hooked up whatsoever. Just go to the backup tab in the app then menu > batch. Select the option you want (backup all user apps + system data most likely). When done, go back and choose the top option "verify all your backups" to check that all went well.

The backup is saved to your SD card.

download Titanium from market again. Go to "Batch" then "restore all missing apps with data" and it will restore all of them. If you have the pay version it will do them all at one time and you have to do nothing else. Free version you have to press "ok" for every app as it installs them one at a time

if you are going to flash to a 2.2 rom I dont reccomend backing up system files since there is so much different from 2.1 to 2.2 the system files will just end up messing stuff up.. just clock menu>batch>backup all user apps.... once in 2.2 do a backup of system files that are in green

once you have a clean rom DL titanium and click batch and there will be restore options... make sure you hit restore missing apps with data and not back up(I did this by mistake once)

another tip is to periodically transfer your titaniumbackup folder onto your desktop into a folder titled titaniumbackup with a subfolder of each date you transferred... this can help if you accidentally format your sd card or whatever. I generally add to the subfolder what rom it was on as well so i dont use cross-version system files etc...

If I have already backed up everything prior and now want to install 2.2 can I just uninstall Titanium and have it remove all that info and then re-install it and do a backup the way you suggest and be good to go?

It doesn't matter how you backup going from 2.1 to 2.2. It matters how you restore. When you install 2.2 and then download Titanium choose the batch restore option that says "restore missing apps with data." If you do this you should be fine. Do not select the option to "restore missing apps + all system data" as this will restore system files meant for 2.1 instead of 2.2.
