So..VZW says ship by 8/03 but how long did it take to get yours?

I went to the Verizon store on July 28th and the guy told me that me phone should ship on the 3rd and if it didn't call the store to get a tracking.

I ordered 2 phones. They both shipped out on the 31st. got the first phone on the 2nd and the next one came on the 3rd. Quite fast.

Well from looking at the majority of these postings, I have a somewhat good feeling about ordering mine on the 11th. I'm still really worried though. At the moment of posting this, Verizon's website shows, "WILL BE SHIPPED by 8/23." I see that most people are getting them earlier than what Verizon actually says. I realize their dates are partly due to them trying to make sure that a customer gets their device within the time period that they were actually told, but it still has me worried s***less. I mean, waiting from August 5th to August 23rd does NOT sound fun at all.

I know that I'll be getting it no matter what, but I don't want to be waiting until the end of August/beginning of September just to have my own Droid in my hands.

I get all the, "main," once-a-month checks on the 11th, so that's when I'm going to go in and order my Droid X. I'll be returning my LG Ally when I go to pick it up. It's a nice little phone, but it doesn't have anything on this Droid.

Thanks to everyone who's been posting. I would be freaking out even more if none of you had posted your shipping experiences.

Walmarts still have these in stock. Called this morning to one of our local stores and they had 3 on the shelf. $220 out the door with instant rebate applied.

Yup, that's where I got mine and a few still have some.

Ordered mine Thursday July 29th. Recieved August 4th. Course that was wating a day for FedEx to complete their 2 day shipping requirement.

There is an irony here, that I can't get into.

So the general consensus is that it takes roughly a week to receive a the X?

In any case, I hit up all the stores in a 60 mile radius of me, no one has the X in stock, so I ended up ordering it at 5ish this afternoon.

Here's to hoping it'll be here next Friday or so.

Good morning. I'm new to the forums and did a search for this topic but, didn't see anything.

I am seriously considering the X but wanted to know what other users experiences w/ buying from Amazon.com have been. The phone is $179.99 thru them and they indicate a 4-6 week delivery time frame. Verizon says 8/25 on their site.

My suggestion would be to search all the walmarts, costco, resellers in your area. I live in a small town in TN and I saw one just sitting in the case at Wally World.

I ordered off the website last Wednesday (9/8) and the officially posted ship date was 9/21. Got an email this morning that my DX has shipped and will arrive tomorrow - I'm stoked!
