Comprehensive list of known issues?

It looks like the two connected blobs are one sensor and the unconnected on is another sensor. Two total.

Just guessing tho'.
... well crap...
IF you are correct, then I guess our only hope for a "missed X" notification is to have the 'home' buttons flash occasionally.

I just hope you are wrong (I'll be disappointed if Samsung actually left out the obvious and useful LED notification light:().

Just found a new issue.
I do not like the fact that you can turn the phone off (or in airplane mode) while the phone has the lock screen enabled.

It seems like a big hole in the security features on the phone if I have a locater app (ex. that allows me to find it through GPS, or make it scream if it's nearby) that can be easily bypassed by just powering it down (or even worse, putting it in airplane mode).

Imagine that you just realized that your Moment phone had been swiped! You wanted to borrow the phone of the next person you saw, so that you could text a keyword to your phone to engage the GPS/scream location security features. You sent the text, and nothing happens... now what?

Well, if the airplane mode has been enabled, then the thief can try to crack your security code without the worry of the security features being activated!

Sure, the security features can easily be disarmed by removing the battery... but that also removes the purpose and value of the device. The same goes for powering it down. But as soon as the phone is powered back on, it would receive the text and engage the security GPS location features.

Basically, by allowing access to airplane mode while the lock screen is on, it partially defeats the purpose of the lock screen. I think that whenever the lock screen is on, there should be no way to do anything with the phone aside from 1)attempting to put in the code, or 2)pulling the battery.

Just noting, I have been following this thread and adding to the list as people list issues that are true software/firmware bugs, but things that seem to be derived from a greater problem that's already listed are going to be left off the list because I think its important to keep the first post focused on the major concerns that might be fixed.

Can't get my camera to function, I click on the icon, black screen, have to hit red end button to get back to home screen, error screen comes up, "Sorry camera malfunctioned" something like that. Press the side Camera button, same thing.
hasn't worked for 5 days now.. GPS hasn't worked for me ever.. Phone is very fast and smooth, but these are the problems I have with my phone, well back to the TP2.

Dislikes and Issue list
- Have missed a few calls removing from pouch and slider opening slightly (may be a local issue with mine (loose slider))
- NFL Mobile Live will drop radio broadcast when phone times out
- As mentioned, can't delete messages on Pop accts in default email client
- Triple beep tones (signal loss or roam) annoying, no way to remove or turn off
- When call or any activity is completed and phone locks would be nice to go back to Home menu screen not last one displayed (or option for this)
- Nuance just does not like me even after calibrating, old Voyager phone worked wonderfully
** Seems changing to EXPERT mode fixes it for me!
- Battery life better at the expense of disabling background data
- Needs folder structure defined more clearly so ringtones, alerts and music sort better without guessing, does not seem to follow default Android folder structure *see below

Phone is excellent and hoping for a good result with a 2.0 android update soon.

** My folders had to be setup this way to read tags and avoid putting alarms and ringtones into Music lists for stock Music player:

Root of SDCard:
* create folder call it music and put *.mp3s in there for playback and listing in default music app
* create folder called media, under it create a folder called audio, then under it create folders "Alarms", "Notifications" & "ringtones". Use these for those files and they will auto list for you

Repetitive notifications. I am repeatedly getting notifications for items I downloaded yesterday. I downloaded some wallpapers through the dolphin browser, and I've probably received 10-15 repeat notifications of the downloads. Anyone else getting this or know what's going on?

Uninstall dolphin and then reinstall it

Uninstall/reinstall of dolphin seems to have fixed the problem. Thanks for your input!

I'm not feeling any wiggle..... sorry.

To clarify, I want to point out that by wiggle I don't mean it at all feels loose.

But if you push up on the top portion of your phone (the screen part, with the keyboard part being the bottom), it doesn't move at all?

And by move, I'm talking about fractions of a millimeter. You can't physically see it move, but you can feel it.

I assume that the sliding mechanism requires this very small amount of give, otherwise the phone wouldn't be able to slide open.

Well if you put it like that then yes.

A couple of times now I've pulled my Moment from my pocket and was unable to wake it up. Tried hitting the red button and waiting 5 minutes, tried attaching power cable, tried holding red button down to get the menu. Only resolution was to disconnect power cable and pull the battery.

This may be related to "pocket dialing" that I've run into where apparently some correctly timed button key presses have been able to make repeated phone calls to the last person that I intentionally called. I don't use the screen lock currently.

Maybe I hit a magic combination of key presses that puts the phone in a persistent vegetative state, though it's probably more like a coma since the screen is off.

The sleep function of this phone works fine.

People who are having usage issues probably have something enabled to keep the phone from sleeping.

I've tried all different methods with this using spare parts to monitor my usage. And my phone rarely goes over 10% usage when I'm using it most of the day.

I get at least 20 hours on the battery as well in a poor service area.

Yes, the battery meter reads incorrect though. Which is annoying, cause it shuts the keyboard off eventually.

I have called sprint and samsung and they both claim there is no issue with the phone or battery... that this is an isolated incident.. I find that hard to believe considering all the people who have reported problems on the various forums...
Accepting knowledge of a cross line problem can lead to liability issues in the future. No company will ever admit there is a "problem" with their product. Unless of course the Government tells them too. ;)
Sprint/Samsung are VERY aware of the problem, trust me. But to be fair, the battery "issue" is what it is. Unfortunately, it's not really a problem. There's a good chance it could never be properly fixed too.

They've both probably been pointed out elsewhere in the thread (I know at least one has), but two problems I've just had recently:

1) Random airplane mode. I was trying to use some apps last night, and they kept mentioning a problem connecting to whatever. I thought maybe the servers were down for some cleaning. But then later in the day it still wasn't working. Randomly I decided to see if airplane mode was on, and sure enough it was.

2) I woke up this morning and my phone was dead. When I went to bed last night, the battery was yellow, but I only slept for about 6 hours, and I consistently run TaskKiller to shut things down, so I don't know what caused the problem. The last thing I did with the phone last night was installed Quickpedia and Moov, but killed both before going to bed. In any case, I blamed them, and uninstalled both this morning, after charging the phone. (Even if they weren't the reason for the phone dying overnight, they were useless apps to me anyway.)

you don't actually have to create the "media" folder. You can just place the "notifications", "ringtones", and "alarms" folders on the root SD directory and they will work.

True, but it seems some market apps use this folder structure more often, thus creating the media folder reduces the duplicates. Facebook is one app which will create the media folder, and then another notifications one under it. Both ways work, but hopefully this way will reduce confusion.
