Anyone else seem to have problems with exchange server with this phone? Not sure what the problem is but my exchange server for work doesn't reach my phone all the time. I have it to push all my emails but will sometimes get the message hours late in my inbox or only when I refresh it manually. This us using the built in mail app. When I use touchdown everything seems to work great. What gives?

Are you using Adv Task Killer or similar app? I had problems with it syncing email properly as well. It seemed like if I had ATK kill the "Email" application the push wouldn't work until I started it up again.

Yeah I am using advanced task killer but my email app is on the ignore list so it shouldn't be killing it. How did you solve this problem? Stop using advanced task killer?

I have the same problem and i noticed when i toggled the sync notification (via the android widget "Power Control" that comes with the captivate) exchange server kicks in. Furthermore, i am not sure if you also had the following....i would try to send an email from my exchange server email and the composed email would just sit in the outbox without any indication that it wasn't going out on the network.

You have it running on a Captivate? I tried it (because I want to give the OK to use here) but it was too slow to be usable on my phone.

Runs fine on mine and not slow at all. I've watched email hit my inbox at work and seconds later arrive on my Captivate. Contacts-Calendar syncs just fine. I'm also an admin at my job and we use BES for email since it's better secured but I rather use my captivate. So much more to offer than BB.

I use touchdown for exchange mail and all is well. just putting an alternative out there

Same here - works well enough that I happily paid for it after the evaluation period. If I'm sitting at my desk I often get "new mail alerts" on my Captivate a few seconds before the same alert on my laptop - probably just a difference in polling cycles but still....

Oh and my company is still using Exchange 2003 for the time being.

yeah, i also paid for touchdown after evaluation. Then about 40 days later 2.2 rolled out. I guess i never thought 2.2 would be released :)

One huge, i mean huge additional benefit exchange server support on 2.2 was the larger buttons that now exist for the PIN. In 2.1, they were the smallest buttons that i frequently selected wrong one. With a maximum retry of 10 pushed by our company - i came close a few times.

I do want to say, that i like touchdown's usage of the PIN only being required when checking exchange email (and not other usage on the phone). Now i must enter the pin after awaking my phone (but again, at least those new buttons are large).
