A mod deleted my thread titled: 'Another POLL ... WHY do you want Froyo??'

Can you PM me please and let me know why it was deleted? I had very specific reasoning for posting that, even if many thought it might have been redundant.

I wanted to post a poll to get a rough idea out of all of the posters aching for Froyo, who wanted it for bug fixes, and who wanted it for other reasons such as new features, etc.

That is a specific purpose, and is not redundtant.

If you'd be so kind, please let me know what i did wrong. I was really looking forward to the results of that poll.

Thanks.

It appears it was merged with the Droid Inc 2.2 Froyo OTA Update Discussion....

No idea why though as I don't frequent the DInc forums enough to follow what happens here.

I've I had to guess, and it's strictly a guess, I'd say it's because it was regarding the 2.2 update for the DInc and the other thread appears to be the ongoing place for discussions about it. :)

Other than that, you'll need to wait for a mod to chime in or the person who moved it to respond,

Thanks!

Unfortunately I don't frequent the DInc forums so I can't even begin to speculate what the thoughts/reasoning was. It'd be like playing darts in a pitch black room... with no direction the dart board was in.

Give it a day, I'm sure someone (perhaps a mod) will chime in with more info or will pull it from the thread if necessary. :)

Well I mean, most of what people want from Froyo is already covered in that 2.2 thread, and has been covered pretty extensively over and over and over again. So even if you feel your thread has purpose (and everyone could say the say the same with their own 2.2 threads - thus making it a moot point), it was indeed redundant to that thread. Have you read through that official thread to see if your own thread didn't overlap at all? Because I can assure you, having been following that thread, it has.

Theres 3800 posts there, wouldnt everything be covered in there pretty much? lol

Last i checked, the poll showed about 60% of the voters were looking forward to bug fixes.

I was hoping to get more votes, and get a better idea. No way to tell that from the merged thread.

guess my topic just wasnt original enough to warrant its own thread.

I dont understand what the big deal is about having so many froyo posts. If people dont want to read them they wont. But having ONE thread with 3800 posts in it is ridiculous. Who in their right mind would want to read through that to see if their question has been asked or answered. Why not make a froyo forum then and let people go crazy with their questions?

DING DING DING!!!

A "Thanks" was not enough...

This is a discussion forum... and for me, a forum user of a few different forums... I just give up on the ones that get too long to follow.

New threads... new opinions, yes, sometimes redundant but seriously... who cares?

Just thinking out loud

So having one thread with 3800 posts is ridiculous but having a entire forum with 300 threads about Froyo (many of which will be repeats of one another) mixed in with the several hundred threads of Incredible related topics is OK? Its not a matter of who reads them (and honestly, if someone was truly interested in Froyo, then they'd read the thread. Most people complaining have their own agenda in mind and just want things easier for themselves because they themselves don't feel like reading it), its a matter of keeping the forum organized. And say, we do, do that, and let all the Froyo threads flow. You better believe you will have another group complaining that theres too many and want mods to merge them all. Unfortunately, we can't please everyone and since we've been using this current convention, thats what were sticking to. The mods/guides here try to make reasonable decisions based on the circumstances at hand. I encourage you to think about the flipside of what your petitioning, as many people tend to ignore it.

Sorry, ain't gonna happen. Next thing you know, everyone and their dog will want a Gingerbread forum, then one for Honeycomb.... take a look at the number of device-specific forums here already, and how many new devices are being announced that will require a forum to be created. It's already hard enough to persuade people to post in the relevant forum as it is.....

It's natural that some members won't agree with the way AF is run. That's fine - we're all individuals with our own opinions. However, this is how the owner and admins decided it will be run. Not the mods or guides - they only implement policy, not set it. The Suggestion Box & Feedback forum would be the place to put the idea forward.
