List of ROM's?

So now that I know how to root.. I just need to know what are some very good fast/customizable ones out there? Ive heard of evil eris, froyo???? I havent a clue what the names are or annything so could anyone post links to popular ones i can get?

Nick,

Visit this thread over at XDA: [READ FIRST] Eris Roll-up Thread - xda-developers and you'll find a ROM section.

This is the forum where a lot of the devs hang-out, so hopefully its fairly up-to-date.

That being said, there are some ROMs that are not listed in there, notably Andrizoid's. Here are some of his ROMs hosted here on AF:

I'm sure there are others, but this should get you started. Cheers!

Go over to All Things Root and/or the XDA dev forums. At XDA you'll find the dev, download, notes, and best the community support for specific ROMs.
Some of the the more popular ones are Kaos, Tazz/CM6, Evil Eris, xtrROM/xtrSENSE and many other specialized versions. All depends if you want/need 2.1 or 2.2 base, Flash, JIT, a2sd, etc.
Personally I'm on xtrSENSE 3.? The 4.x version is out but haven't moved on. xtrSENSE looks exactly the same as the stock, but you get SU root permission, much faster, OC, flash, JIT, a2sd, c2sd and can keep HTC's Sense if you want it.

+1 to fussgeist -- I hesitated to list or advocate a ROM since I think you'll learn an awful lot by reading a researching what other's have posted and commented about a particular ROM in the dev's ROM thread.

That being said, I do hear a lot of good talk, particularly from the esteemed Frisco, about Zach XTR ROMs (xtrROM and xtrSense) as well as lots of others.

Also, a good, stable, solid ROM that is about as close to stock as you can get is PlainJaneT2.

One more thing, you can look for threads on the XDA site (Droid Eris Android Development - xda-developers) that are prefixed with "[ROM]". Try changing your "Display Options" in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen to Sorted By "Thread Title" and Sort Order "Descending" then click "Show Threads"; you'll have to scroll a page or two, but all of the "[ROM]" prefixed-threads will be together for your viewing pleasure.

Enjoy!
