Well i fail. was poking around with stuff that was WAY over my head and managed to semi brick my phone lol. COMPLETELY my fault. i blame no one but my own ******ed self.

I was playing with ADB and trying to mix and match stuff like deleting the clock and what not. my phone boots but all my media is gone including the damn avatar movie. i dont know how to revert the phone to stock. i take it from the little info i gleaned from searching that im screwed. i cant get back avatar and i cant bring it back to a factory state. is there a REAL stock rom i can flash too or something?

i even tried reverting back to my OG nandroid. still no files :(

ill keep you updated.

Consider yourself lucky to be without that movie. It is soooo lame. I fell asleep watching it in 1080p on a 42" plasma.... can't imagine how painful it would be to have to watch it on a 4" screen. It's just a really terrible movie... the graphics are cartoony, the story is stolen and flat, the dialogue is lacking, the characters are boring.... so pathetic that it made so much money... so many sheep... ugh....

I second that. Although I must admit, I almost cried when the avatar girl held the human in her hands, you know that scene? ya I shed a tear. I thought the movie was okay, but surerly not worth seeing 50 million times like some people did. Also james cameron is a prick.

Listen here, troll, just because YOU didnt like the movie doesnt mean that everyone else has to aswell. You sound like a cry baby. So you didnt like avatar, big deal. And im a sheep for liking the movie? Go soak your head, and come back when you refrain from trolling.

This is what you need.

Its T959 (US T-Mobile version of the Galaxy S) firmware that can be flashed through Odin to restore all partitions to the way your phone was shipped to you.

THIS WILL WIPE ANY DATA ON YOUR DEVICE, IT WILL REPLACE YOUR BASEBAND, KERNEL, RECOVERY AND OS. But if your bricked/semi-bricked it probably doesn't matter to you.

OR

ALL 3 Files plues the root update.zip

thx to KopyKatKiller

Extract all files. You may need WinRAR. If so just search for it and download a trial that coresponds with your system. ie, 32 or 64 bit version.

INSTRUCTIONS!

1.Your Device must be in DOWNLOAD mode to use ODIN.

2.Get your phone into Download mode by holding vol down and power OR if that doesn't work, power off, plug in usb cord, wait until green battery image shows, hold down Vol. Up AND Down and POWER.

3.Open Odin and load each file with it's corresponding field..PIT,PDA,CSC etc. (In this case we just use the PDA and PIT)

4.Don't check anything else, the other two boxes should be checked by default (Auto Reboot and Reset Time)

5.Hit "start"! be patient!

It took 4 times for it to work for me. ODIN is not a very stable application but its going to work.

Thx to all helping work on the Vibrant. Especially Youneek, Scepterr, MS_Guru, Wes Garner, rhcp0112345, John LeNY

Read your own post, this was what you were asking. You even said "Managed to semi brick my phone". And you WILL get Avatar back if you use my method. Oh and YOUR WELCOME.
