Notepad/List App?

Hi there. I'm looking for some kind of list making app or a notepad app that can keep an ongoing list. More specifically I would like to find a good way to keep track of my DVDs. I never know whats missing because I have so many or if I'm buying a new one, whether or not I have it already.

So I'm just looking for something that can handle a long list (600+ movies I have) and simply a check box to click if it has been loaned out and a numbering system to keep track of the running total. I can't find anything that really does that. Any suggestions?

Remember the milk doesn't seem to have a list section. All I saw were task options. Not what I'm looking for.

I already use AKnotepad for notes and things. I like that one a lot and am currently typing in my list of movies to that. But there is no real options that I'm looking for such as a search feature and numbering. I'm starting to think there isn't a real list app out there :(

This honestly sounds like something that might be better suited to a web app that you could just access via the browser instead of a local app. There are many media tracking applications out there and I'm sure some of them have a web access module.
And example search I did was "php movie database" in google and a bunch of free scripts came back.

So, if you've got some web space with access to a database, this may be a better option if you can't find an android app. This then has the advantage of scaling nearly infinitely and being easily backed up.

I have used DVDProfiler from here for years. It is a desktop app, but they have a site that it will connect to, to create a list that is viewable on the net. It also allows barcode entry of your dvd's and it is free (ad supported) and available in a paid version. Unfortunatly, the web interface is read-only.

You can see what the web interface looks like by going to mine at:

I'll leave it public for a couple of days

@pdragon
I'm not really sure what that even means :eek: Guess I'm not as literate as I thought I was :D But thanks for the idea.

@eyebeam
I checked that out, it's a possibility. Thank you.

@ meinkien
That is pretty cool. I'll have to check that out. Looks promising. Thank you too.

I'm still looking for an actual app though. So I can update and browse on my phone when I'm out. I have emailed a couple of developers with ideas to see if they could implement them. We'll see what happens.

And it just dawned on me, what about a spread sheet? That would be perfect for what I need. Problem is I only found 1 that had a free trial version. Shead Spreet I think would work, but it only allows me to enter 10 items, so I'm not quite sure how it would handle the whole list. Are there any other lite versions of spread sheet apps I didn't see?

Thanks for all the feedback and ideas though. I swear I'm not trying to be a picky pain in the a** :D

+1 on DVD Profiler. They currently offer a WinMo version of their app and there has been a lot of requests in their forums for an Android version. Hopefully they'll listen to the masses. I currently use the desktop version and can check my listing from a browser.
