Transferring files

Hi I hope that you dont think this is a dumb question
I have only had my HTC Desire for a couple of days and I love it however this is my first 'android' phone so I am still finding my way around doing things. I wanted to transfer music from my PC to my phone so I linked up my phone with the PC using the USB cable and dragged the files from my desktop to the J drive which I assume is my phone but the music does not appear to be in my music folder, I assume that I have to do something else to get it from the SD card to my phone but what

I havent tried it yet myself but i'm sure i saw a folder in the SD card called MP3. I reckon if you put your mp3's in that folder you'll then see them in the music player.

Anywhere on the root of the card and the music player will pick them up.

Create a folder called music and stick them all in there

how do i access media from the phone though? I'm trying to put ROM files on. legal, un-copywrited ones of course.

You could just use double twist to do all of the syning for you.

I think you are looking at the root of your SD card there. Mine looks similar. You can install a free file manager like 'Astro' so you can navigate through the phone and install apps etc. I find the easiest method of file transfer is wirelessly through FTP. The app I use is SwiFTP. You can navigate to your SD card and just drag/drop. I don't like the fact that you are charging your phone whenever you connect it to the PC, so I prefer this method.
